Spring Hill is a thriving city nestled in the heart of Middle Tennessee, spanning across Maury and Williamson Counties.
The city’s government plays a crucial role in delivering essential services to its residents, encompassing public safety, planning, and infrastructure. The Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) serves as the city’s legislative body, consisting of the mayor and eight members. Two members are elected from each of the city’s four wards, chosen at large by the residents. Mayoral elections take place every four years, while aldermen are elected every two years, with a rotation system ensuring that only one alderman seat from each ward runs in each election. City elections are held in April.
Transparency and accountability are top priorities for the Spring Hill government, which provides a range of online resources to keep residents informed about the city’s activities. These resources include live streaming of BOMA meetings, access to meeting agendas and minutes, and online services like bill payment, permit applications, and a non-emergency request portal. These user-friendly services facilitate resident-government interaction and enable residents to stay updated on important city matters.
At the helm of the City of Spring Hill’s administration staff are a city administrator and two assistant city administrators. The city administrator is appointed by BOMA and assumes responsibility for overseeing the implementation of policies and programs approved by the board. Daily operations management, coordination of departmental activities, and ensuring efficient and effective utilization of the city’s resources all fall under the purview of the city administrator.
In addition to the city government, Spring Hill boasts various boards, commissions, and committees dedicated to serving its residents. These include the Beer Board, Board of Zoning Appeals, Planning Commission, Budget & Finance Advisory Committee, Historic Commission, Parks & Recreation Commission, Library Board of Trustees, Industrial Development Board (IDB), Town Center Redevelopment Committee, and Transportation Advisory Committee.
